Peter Wood on The American Mind with Charles Kesler

Peter Wood

In an interview on The American Mind with Charles Kesler, NAS president Peter Wood discussed the National Association of Scholars’ recent report on Bowdoin College, What Does Bowdoin Teach? Apart from hosting The American Mind, Kesler is a professor of government/political science at Claremont McKenna College, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute, and an editor of the Claremont Review of Books. Wood’s and Kesler’s knowledge of the academy made for a lively and thoughtful discussion of the Bowdoin report, which Harvey Mansfield recently described as “the first of its kind and probably destined to be the best.” In four segments Wood and Kesler discussed diversity at Bowdoin College, analyzed Bowdoin’s curriculum, examined its student life, and asked, what is the solution to the problems that the report diagnosed?
