Make a Gift
When the English utilitarian philosopher Jeremy Bentham died in 1832, he charitably gave himself to posterity. His carefully preserved body sits upright and well-dressed to this day in the Jeremy Bentham Cabinet at University College London. We at the NAS consider this act above the call of charitable duty. We would like you to give of yourself, but not quite so entirely.
The National Association of Scholars welcomes contributions. We are a non-profit organization, and gifts that we receive are generally tax-deductible. While we appreciate direct financial contributions, we have benefited in the past from legacies left to us by supporters and other kinds of gifts.
Gifts to NAS generally support our research projects and our efforts to sustain reasoned inquiry and support for free institutions in American higher education. The NAS is one of the most distinct voices on campus and in American society. We speak for the tradition of ordered liberty as embodied in the traditional notions of academic freedom and responsibility. Our vision of society is trans-generational. We seek to protect and transmit the best ideas and institutions of the past and to ensure that coming generations receive that cultural legacy of our civilization in a form still worth having.
If you too take the long view of what the present owes to the past and to the future, please give generously to the National Association of Scholars.
