NAS is now looking to hire a development intern for summer/fall 2018. The internship is paid hourly for 25-30 hours per week (flexible schedule). College upperclassmen and recent graduates living in the New York area are encouraged to apply. For more information, please write to Chris Kendall at


Reports to

Chief Development Officer

Key areas of responsibilities

  • Process donations and memberships
  • Record data in fundraising database
  • Collaborate with NAS staff on development projects
  • Draft thank you notes to foundations and major donors, draft other correspondence
  • Correspond with donors and members regarding issues about payments
  • Process spreadsheet requests for staff members

Additional opportunities

While the main responsibility of the Development Assistant will be to oversee donor and member statuses, there may be opportunities to contribute articles and blog posts to

Length of internship

This is a one-semester, summer internship. Start and end dates are flexible but generally run from early May to mid-August.
