In today's Pope Center Clarion Call, the author (a graduate of and former history instructor at the Naval Academy) laments the damage that has been done there by the diversity mania. Of all the places where we should want recruitment and advancement to depend solely on merit, he argues that it's the armed forces.

Unfortunately, the politically correct notion that every institution must "mirror" society at large has infected the top brass in the Navy.
