Clear, calm, principled…and truthful. A joy to hear.
Bravo, Dr. Wood

Dr. Wood’s argument about the Religion department’s major requirements are incorrect. For one, the department requires a broad survey course that gives an overview of many religions, including Christianity. After the intro course, prospective majors need to fulfill four more requirements. Two of which are focused on Christianity/the Bible.

Also, there are 3 (not 2) conservative faculty members in the government department to my knowledge. And there are many courses on classical western philosophy and political history (which Dr. Wood appears to suggest is absent outside of the conservative contingent of the government department).

For me, this video resonates profoundly.  I had never heard anyone speak about what I had experienced at Bowdoin so truthfully, so eloquently, and with such great insight into the culture that I experienced at Bowdoin.

Thank you for shining a light onto a college that needs to wake up to the reality of what constitutes true diversity, but today remains mired in the same superficiality, political correctness, and arrogant intellectual dishonesty that marred my years there.
