Dark Money at American Colleges

Peter Wood

What's going on in higher education? Dan Proft interviews NAS president Peter Wood on how American college and universities profit from foreign funding.

Peter explains that these programs are often efforts by foreign nations to increase their soft power influence over American universities. This extra funding often brings into question the loyalty of some of our most prestigious institutions. Moreover, these foreign gifts often go unreported even though American institutions are required to report them.

What is China buying with this "dark money?" Find out by listening to his interview below. The interview begins at 57:30.
